Our Vintage Woodsy Elopement
Corey and I have been together since we were 17 years old. We are best friends and I am truly lucky to have such a funny, handsome, talented, & hard working man whom I can count on for anything.
We never had any real plans to ever marry. What we were doing as boyfriend and girlfriend was working wonderfully. And we both have had our own reasons not to marry.
After six years and a beautiful baby girl we decided that if anyone can make a marriage work that we can. And Corey surprised me one day over the summer with the most perfect ring. And so wedding planning began sort of.. & it was overwhelming just thinking of all the time and money that goes into it. So we decided on elopement. We got in touch with an awesome photographer friend, an ordained friend, and my best friend to share our day. We had always wanted a fall wedding and November is perfect in the Carolina’s.
The wedding needed a touch of blue. We made a heart banner our of paint samples and thread to hang.
This wedding was top secret. Only three other people knew about it besides us.
I am a very superstitious.. I needed the flowers in my hair, a man had to be the first person to congratulate us, and thanks to my maid of honor the bride and groom did not see each other the night before the wedding.
The one thing I really wanted was flowers in my hair because of Irish tradition & the good luck that it is supposed to have. Floral hair wreaths from a florist start at $500. So I made this myself with baby’s breath, ribbon, and floral wire for about $7!
Some of the perks of getting married at a park. Awesome photo bomb opportunity!
The day was beyond perfect. So simple and intimate. Thank you to all our friends and family for understanding and supporting our decision and need for secrecy. We love you all.
